It will serve four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, North Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic. This project aims to increase and sustain the benefits of the new landfill by supporting the capacity development of the four municipalities and the future service providers. GIZ will implement the Action as part of its commission by the German Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) on the “Establishment of sustainable municipal services (Waste Management)”. The population is currently served by several unsanitary landfills and open dump sites dispersed throughout North Kosovo.
