EU TACSO 3 is organising training programme on Emergency Response: CSOs’ Response to Complex Humanitarian Crisis for civil society organisations (CSOs) in the Western Balkans and Turkey (WBT). This comprehensive training programme encompasses two training modules that will take place in November and December 2020.

1)  A regional advanced training focused on emergency response of CSOs from the WBT. Target group of this training are CSOs from the WBT that are active in emergency response to COVID-19 crisis with proven track record of direct assistance. Priority will be given to CSOs dealing with human rights, vulnerable groups, providing humanitarian and social services, networks and sub-granting CSOs support emergency response efforts at the grass-root level. The EU TACSO 3 intention with this training is to make CSOs from the WBT more effective in their response to COVID-19 situation, especially in their support to the most vulnerable groups. Training programme will be delivered in English language;

2)   A joint training to facilitate improved effectiveness of CSOs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia in emergency response, and particularly in the situation of current COVID-19 pandemic. Target group of this training are CSOs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia, that are less experienced in emergency response, particularly social services providers, human rights organisations, grassroots organisations, organisations working with vulnerable groups, children and youth. This training module will be adapted to specific needs of targeted countries when it comes to responding to immediate emergency caused by COVID-19. Recognising the similar national contexts and limitations of local CSOs and grassroots to attend trainings in English, the training will be delivered in Serbian/Bosnian/Montenegrin language.

Each training module will, take the form of a three-day hands-on training with practical know-how transfer by an experienced emergency response expert in the field, in order to:

  1. Provide participants with sufficient knowledge to be able to assess and identify existing capacities, local resources and coping strategies to develop locally appropriate and locally “owned” mechanisms to respond in emergency and crisis situations;
  2. Provide space for exchange of experiences, practices and know-how among CSOs in emergency response;
  3. Instigate networking and collaboration among CSOs on emergency response;
  4. Identify any additional support CSOs need to better cope with and respond to emergency situation.

Both training modules will be conducted on-line (via Zoom platform).

The first training module will take place on 18, 19 and 20 November, three working days, 6 hours each. Interested CSOs should apply by filling in and submitting the Application form by Thursday, 12 November 2020, 17:00hrs CET.
