The Study of U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) are five- to six-week academic programs focusing on topics in U.S. studies for groups of foreign undergraduates, scholars, and teachers. Hosted by universities and colleges throughout the United States, the Institutes include an intensive academic residency, an educational study tour to another region of the United States, and opportunities for participants to engage with American peers. Institutes for Student Leaders also include community service activities and leadership development.

Deadline: December 1, 2022 This call solicits applications for scholarship opportunities for three summer 2023 Study of the U. S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Secondary Educators. Institutes will take place over the course of five weeks beginning in June 2023; exact dates for each Institute will be communicated in spring 2023. Each Institute will take place in-person at a U.S. academic institution. Should health, safety, and travel conditions continue to pose significant challenges, the programs will pivot to a modified virtual format.
