I.BACKGROUND
Over the last two decades, the health sector in Kosovo has seen successful developments in immunization, with high levels of coverage in routine immunization (95% and above). However, like other areas of the health system, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted the immunization program, resulting in a drop in immunization coverage. The COVID-19 pandemic has also caused an 'infodemic' with an unprecedented production and spread of misinformation, leading to increased vaccination hesitancy.
Primary Health Care plays a central role in addressing the challenges of immunization and increasing vaccination coverage, while effective planning is critical to ensure the successful introduction, uptake, and equitable distribution of vaccines.
